Telecom strikes supply deal

Telecom strikes supply deal:

Telecom has struck a deal with Brightstar Corp to deliver mobile devices, supply chain services and improved business intelligence.

The announcement comes ahead of the launch of Telecom's new mobile network in November.

Brightstar, headquartered in Miami, is one of the largest global wireless device distribution, logistics and supply chain companies.

"Given the number of new technology projects on the go at Telecom we have been looking at the best ways we can source and deliver wireless devices such as mobiles for our customers," said Telecom GM of Mobile, Martin Butler.

Brightstar will now be Telecom's partner of choice for supply chain services and the new relationship will be phased in over the next six months.

Brightstar chief executive Marcelo Claure said innovation and competitive intensity in the mobile phone industry is accelerating at levels unheard of in most industries.
