Finally if you slide the top piece of the phone upwards, the keyboard lies beneath. The nice feature this phone has is the screen comes on as soon as you slide the screen up. The T-Mobile Wing also has some new indicator lights as well, with blue led lights which come on when you press the shift key and the function key.
One of the bad things you will find while holding the T-Mobile Wing with the slider open is that your finger will be positioned right on the camera lens, which will unfortunately leave fingerprints on the lens. You will also notice that the home screen takes quite a long time to come back on. One of the things that T-Mobile has done with the Wing in the interest of making things easier to find is packing the home screen full of different things. They have done this to the point where you can't touch any part of the screen without activating something. All of these features also slow down the loading time of the T-Mobile Wing.
There are some new note worthy features in Windows Mobile Professional. One of which is the fact that there is a Windows Live application as well as a Live Search application. This can be kind of confusing, seeing you would think they are basically the same thing, however they each give you access to different features. The Windows Live application gives you access to messenger, email, and Windows Live web search. While Windows Live search gives you access to windows local.
Windows Mobile 6 Professional finally added the quick find feature, which has been available on Windows Mobile Smart Phone, the standard for quite some time. Windows Mobile 6 Professional also has all of the office applications that the standard edition has. Finally the battery life in the new T-Mobile Wing is amazing, you can expect to get four days or so on a charge.
We wish the home screen would have had fewer icons making it easier to use, we also wish that they would have upgraded the processor in the T-Mobile Wing over the from the processor that was in the MDA. The processor is just to slow to run Windows Mobile 6 especially with all of the extras T-Mobile added. But other then that its a huge improvement and a really nice phone. If you are considering buying a new phone I would highly recommend purchasing the T-Mobile Wing.
